Fat Cow Media have been a really great company to create our website for us. Ours was a big project - we decided we needed to create a whole new website, to modernise and bring ourselves up-to-date. Our website at this point was around 10 years old, which in the world of the internet is practically ancient. We really needed to catch up, and with a small team of staff with no specialist IT knowledge and no experience in putting together a website, we needed a web development company who would really understand our needs, guide us through each part of the development process, and have bucket-loads of patience with us as we meandered our way through layouts, formats, colours and heaps of content; all fit around our day-to-day jobs.
We discovered Fat Cow Media scouring the internet for different companies, whittling down the choices to companies whose own website actually looked good, and who responded to our initial enquiry quickly and clearly. What really swung it was Fat Cow Media's proposal - they were quick and had obviously paid attention to what we asked for. So in stepped our project manager, Steve.
We probably had a million different ideas at the beginning with no clue where to start. It was Steve who gently guided us through what needed to done and when, taking the project one webpage at a time. The downside of having to fit this project around our daily work was that we had to slow it down and delay it at various intervals when our normal work got busy, which meant the project took a lot longer than planned. It was thanks to Steve's patience, honesty, hard work, always knowing what-was-what, and literally never dropping the ball, that we kept going with it, surviving hundreds of drafts, re-drafts and everything from the tiniest adjustments in colour shades, to larger adjustments like the complete re-structure of whole sections.
After many hours of work all round, it was a thrill to finally launch our brand new website in November, 2014. The site has meant a complete re-brand for us, and we have received not only complements from students and staff, but have seen our business increase significantly; we have no doubts that this is down to our smart, professional and very accessible website produced by Fat Cow Media. And the best part is that it doesn't look generic – it is very much a representation of us and our business, and is exactly the impression we wanted to create. Steve listened to us, was honest about what could be done, what should be done, and equally, what should not be done, and he was patient with us throughout. Even now, if we have an issue or need help, they are only a few minutes away on the end of an email.
